PSA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZlSilyQCWc Luke and Drew's PSA
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOcSE0e6oqA Erik, Ben, and Derek's
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL9nuzWy5mo Marin, Becky, and Chloe's

My favorite one was Marin, Becky, and Chloe's.  Even though most people wouldn't find it to be very appropriate because of the different 'characters' that each person played, I found it to be very comical and enjoyable to watch.  It showed all the different things that Ashwaubenon does do and also showed how great of a city Ashwaubenon is.  I know I would be excited to move to Ashwaubenon after seeing this video.  I would say the best part of this video is when that old person is talking about Bingo. :)

This week we learned about sensation and perception.  This is a great video that shows that as we age our our hearing, tasting, seeing, touching, and smelling aren't as good as when we are younger.  It shows the reality and comedic side to people aging.  It has an elderly couple and a family and the family can hear this high pitch noise but the elderly couple can't.  This shows that as we age our hearing becomes slighly more impaired each year.  It is funny because everyone can hear it but they can't.  It can also be heard through the video what the noise is.

I have done this to my grandparents and it was quite amusing to watch them struggle to try and hear this high pitch.  I also did this to my mom and she could only faintly hear the noise.  I am actually scared though after doing this because I don't ever want to reach that stage in my life where all my senses are less sensative than when I was in my younger years. Another thing that I would like to mention is driving.  If our senses do end up not working as well, then shouldn't there be a limit on how old you are allowed to drive? It depends on the person you say, well then it should depend on the person for letting teenagers get their license.

This week we learned about the cognitive development of ourselves. We learned about the sensorimotor, pre-operational, concrete, and formal operational stages.  The young girl in this video displays that she is in pre-operational stage of her life.  The pre-operational stage is when a child is 2-6 years old.  In the beginning of the video it displays that she is almost 3 years old so she already fits into this description.  She also is on the phone and pretending to talk to someone about getting a lollipop puppy.  Pretending is a main part in this stage where kids explore their imagination.

I remember my mom telling me about a time in my life where I pretended with many things that I did.  I played with hot wheels a lot and used them like if I was the racecar driver.  I also pretended when I was using these pokemon cards that I loved to play with.  I just had a lot of fun as a kid pretending all the time.  I with sometimes that I could go back to those days.

Ice Cube Addiction

3:00 p.m.
My next ice cubes will come from my girlfriend’s house.  This will be difficult but I plan on when she goes to the bathroom that I will then hurry and get my couple ice cubes to satisfy myself.  Then I will hurry back down to where I was before she went to the bathroom and act like nothing had happened.

5:00 p.m.
No one is home yet so it is easy to take my dose that I want and no one to find out about it.  I will get it from my freezer.  I will go upstairs to the freezer and take it from there and eat as much as I can.

7:00 p.m.
This will be a little more difficult because the family is home now.  My next fix will come from my freezer again.  I will make sure that no one is in the kitchen.  Next, I will sneak in the kitchen and quickly grab some ice and go downstairs without anyone seeing me.

9:00 p.m.
I will get my next dose of ice from my freezer again.  Hopefully neither my mom nor my sister will be in the kitchen.  If I happen to come upon one of them I will tell them that my water wasn’t cold enough.

11:00 p.m.
I will get my next hit of ice from my freezer that is downstairs.  I have put a bottle of water in the freezer and it froze half way so I can still drink it and there is ice still in it.  This will be put back in the freezer when I’m done with it.

7:00 a.m.
I will get my ice from my freezer again.  Usually in the morning no body is in the kitchen until after I leave for school, so I will have no problem getting the ice without anyone seeing me.  This will be another easy dose to get.

Well, I had no real encounters with anyone in my family about this incident so I didn't have to lie.  I did have a horrible feeling in my tummy when I was going to get my ice from wherever it was because I knew it was somethign I wasn't supposed to be doing.  I can really see how this could ruin one of my relationships because it is hiding something and no one should ever hide anything from anyone.  It was kind of scary thinking that way of trying to think of ways to hide things in order to not get caught.  It definitely didn't feel right.  I have a feeling that my mom knew nothing that was going on, this due to the fact that I only did it for one day.  If I would have done it longer I'm sure she would have noticed something was up.  I could totally see my mom blowing up at me and being so shocked that I was doing drugs.

This week we learned about the social learning theory.  The social learning theory is described as learning from other outside influences, such as our environment or our peers.  We learn our actions from them.  For instance, if you didn't know how to open a can of soda, you could watch your friend open theirs up first and then you would learn how to do it.  This also relates to how children act when they get older, because then they will act the same as their parents.

This relates to my life because most of the things I have learned have come from my parents.  For example, I am a kind and gentle person because that is the way that my parents have acted.  Also I do similar things that they have done.  My mom is very conservative in keeping things and so am I.  My dad is lazy sometimes and that is where I get my laziness from.
